# Using MySpec

These guides cover the MySpec web app at
[app.myspec.dev](https://app.myspec.dev). If you are new, start with the
[Quickstart](/get-started/quickstart/) and [Core concepts](/get-started/concepts/).

## The main areas

| Area | Where to find it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| **Projects** | The top bar | Search your projects, switch between **All projects**, **Created by me** and **Archived**, and create a **New Project**. |
| A project page | Select a project | **Home**, with everything that has happened in the project, the **Chats**, **Discussions**, **Tasks** and **Settings** tabs, the file explorer with spec files and attachments, the comments panel and **Share**. **Settings** holds the project's details, access, **MCP servers** and **Custom skills**. |
| A chat | Select a chat, or start one from the project page | The conversation with the AI, the workflow's stages and the spec files it writes. |
| **Notifications** | The bell in the top bar | Mentions, replies, finished sessions and plan limit alerts. |

## The avatar menu

Select your avatar in the top-right corner to open the menu:

| Item | What it opens |
|---|---|
| **Profile** | Your name, photo, timezone, locale, organizations, professional role, notification preferences and personal MCP servers. |
| **Organization settings** | Members, invitations, **Spec integrations** and Custom Skills. Only owners and admins see this item. |
| **API tokens** | Long-lived tokens for MCP clients that run without a browser. |
| **Connected apps** | Apps such as Claude or ChatGPT you have allowed to use MySpec, and a way to disconnect them. |
| **Usage** | Your AI activity this month and your organization's plan limits. |
| **Organization** | A quick switcher between the organizations you belong to. |
| **Theme** | Switch between light and dark mode. |
| **Language** | The interface language. |
| **Role** | Your professional role in the current organization. |
| **Sign out** | Signs you out of MySpec. |
